Muong La supports sustainable development of cooperatives

Currently, there are 85 cooperatives in Muong La district, operating in various sectors including agriculture, forestry, fisheries, industry, handicrafts, commerce, and services, with a total of 548 members. According to Nguyen Van Tam, Vic Chairman of the district People's Committee, the district has effectively implemented policies that support and create opportunities for cooperatives to expand production and business. It has also directed specialised agencies to enhance training programmes and the transfer of production techniques to cooperatives, helping them transition from traditional farming methods to modern ones to produce safe, high-quality agricultural products. Additionally, the district has boosted trade promotion activities and provided opportunities for cooperatives to participate in fairs and expand their connections with businesses under value chains.

Since 2020, the district has provided more than 1.5 billion VND (59,000 USD) to assist cooperatives in purchasing packaging for their products, supporting the promotion and advertising of agricultural products through media outlets, and helping them print traceability labels and obtain VietGAP certification. Many cooperatives have operated effectively and actively introduced local agricultural products. Furthermore, the district has supported the application of science and technology in production, helping farmers change their cultivation practices and access markets more effectively.
