Permanent members of 16th-tenure People’s Council meet

Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, on June 22 chaired the fifth session of the permanent members of the 16th-tenure People’s Council for the 2026–2031 term.

At the session, delegates reviewed and gave opinions on a number of items to be submitted to the 16th-tenure People’s Council, including regulations on funding support for the operation of commune-level People’s Inspection Boards across the province and aid allocation.

They also discussed principles, criteria and norms for allocating local budget-funded public investment capital for 2026–2030, the detailed allocation of the 2026 local budget-funded public investment plan, and the extension of the implementation and disbursement period for the 2025 centrally funded public investment plan into 2026 (second phase).

Delegates also looked into policies to prioritise investment and mobilise resources for building technical infrastructure in residential areas lacking adequate transport systems and water supply for firefighting across Son La province.

They touched upon adjustments to land recovery areas and project information under resolutions previously approved by the People’s Council, as well as a list of works and projects for which the State will recover land to implement socio-economic development projects serving national and public interests in the province.

Other items tabled for discussion included a report consolidating proposed questioning topics and persons subject to questioning at the second sitting of the 16th-tenure People’s Council, submitted by the Office of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies and the council.

In his remarks, Hung asked the council, its boards, along with the Office of the province's delegation of National Assembly deputies to coordinate with drafting agencies to revise and finalise the documents, ensuring proper form and content for submission to the council at its second sitting.
