Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial VFF Committee presents Tet gifts to Co Ma, Long He, Muong Bam, Nam Lau communes

Member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of the province Nguyen Manh Hung, on February 4 conducted inspections, reviewed the situation and presented Tet gifts to residents in Co Ma, Long He, Muong Bam and Nam Lau communes.

The communes reported on preparations for the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026 and the progress of preparations for the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. Regarding Tet preparations, local authorities have reviewed and compiled lists of poor households, policy beneficiary families and households at risk of food shortages needing support. The total number of households receiving essential supplies and Tet gifts in 2026 is estimated at around 400. Measures have also been implemented to ensure security and public order, strengthen fire and explosion prevention, and control the goods market before, during and after the Lunar New Year festival.

With regard to election preparations, localities have completed the public posting of voter lists at polling stations. The second round of consultation conferences was successfully organised, with agreement on preliminary lists of candidates for commune-level People’s Councils reached. Preparations are currently underway for the third round and voter meetings with candidates for commune-level People’s Councils.

Hung acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the communes in preparing for Tet and in implementing tasks related to the elections. He called on localities to continue effectively carrying out key tasks for 2026, closely adhere to guidance to ensure election preparations remain on schedule, and thoroughly review poor households, policy beneficiary families and those at risk of food shortages. He stressed the need to promptly report to the provincial VFF Committee to ensure timely support, so that no household experiences hardship during Tet, and to organise activities welcoming spring in a joyful, safe and economical manner.

On this occasion, he presented 80 gift packages from the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and the provincial VFF Committee to poor households and policy beneficiary families in the communes, and attended the handover ceremony of a “House of Great Solidarity” to the family of Lo Van Sy in Tang hamlet, Nam Lau commune.
