Provincial Party chief visits, presents Tet gifts to localities, units

Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, provincial Party Secretary, and head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies, on February 5 reviewed the situation and visited, presented Tet gifts, and extended New Year greetings to various localities and units across the province.

The delegation visits and extends New Year greetings to officers and soldiers of the provincial Military Command.

Accompanying him were Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial Party Committee’s Organisation Board; and Hoang Thi Doi, member of the National Assembly’s Council for Ethnic Affairs and deputy head of the the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies.

The delegation visited and extended Tet greetings to officers and soldiers of the provincial Military Command and the provincial Border Guard Command. The units reported on the situation, results of task implementation in 2025, and preparations for the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026.

Accordingly, the military and border guard forces have focused on implementing professional measures, strengthening coordination with local Party committees, authorities, and relevant forces of Laos in patrols, control, and crime prevention and combat, ensuring security and order, as well as maintaining duty rosters and combat readiness.

At the same time, they have paid attention to ensuring a happy Tet for officers and soldiers, organising Spring and Tet activities for the people, and preparing conditions for fireworks displays in localities.

The provincial Party Committee Secretary acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of the units, and requested them to continue promoting solidarity, heightening vigilance, proactively grasping the situation, firmly managing assigned areas, ensuring security and order in border regions; coordinating with public security forces and local authorities to strengthen patrols and combat crimes, especially drug trafficking and smuggling; and providing thoughtful care for officers and soldiers on duty during Tet, thereby ensuring that the people can enjoy a safe and peaceful spring festival.

The delegation also visited and extended Tet greetings to the families of Tong Thi Phong, former Politburo member, former Standing Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, and former Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Hoang No, former Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, in To Hieu ward. In addition, the delegation inspected Tet preparations in To Hieu, Chieng Coi, Chieng An, and Chieng Sinh wards.

At the visited locations, the provincial Party leader expressed deep gratitude to former key provincial leaders over different periods for their significant contributions to the construction and development of the province; kindly inquired about the health and living conditions of their family members; and wished them a warm, joyful, peaceful, and prosperous Tet.

He also acknowledged the achievements in socio-economic development of the wards in 2025, as well as efforts in improving livelihoods and ensuring social security for poor households and policy beneficiaries. He requested Party committees and local authorities to build on achieved results, continue effectively implementing the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels for the 2025–2030 term; ensure security, public order, and traffic safety before, during, and after Tet; strengthen fire and explosion prevention; enhance urban beautification; and organise cultural and sports activities celebrating the Party and Spring in a practical and meaningful manner.

Special attention should be given to effectively implementing social welfare policies, particularly for poor households, policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious services, war invalids and sick soldiers, and vulnerable groups, ensuring that every household can enjoy Tet, he said.

Authorities were also urged to actively resolve administrative procedures for citizens and businesses; promote movements such as the “Tree Planting Festival”; launch irrigation works immediately after Tet; and prepare well for the successful organisation of the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, as well as the 2026 military recruitment.

On this occasion, the provincial Party Committee Secretary presented 80 gift packages from the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to households of people with meritorious services, relatives of martyrs, war invalids, and poor households in To Hieu, Chieng Coi, Chieng An, and Chieng Sinh wards.
