Provincial People's Council Chairman exercises civic duty in Mai Son commune

Joining the nationwide festival, on March 15 morning, at sub-areas 4, 5 and 6 of Polling Station No. 15, Mai Son commune, Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, attended the opening ceremony and cast his vote in the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

From early morning, voters from Sub-areas 4, 5 and 6 gathered at the polling station in neat attire, holding their voter cards with a sense of excitement, creating a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere for the national election day.

At Polling Station No. 15, there are 1,970 voters, including 1,948 voters participating in the election at three levels and 22 voters participating in the voting at two levels. Voters will elect three deputies to the National Assembly, four to the provincial People’s Council, and three to the commune-level People’s Councils.

After the opening ceremony, at exactly 7a.m., the Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, together with voters, began exercising their civic rights.

In a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere, voters presented their voter cards, received their ballots, reviewed the list of candidates and personally put their votes into the ballot box.

Each polling station is equipped with an additional ballot box, while reviewing cases of elderly or sick voters who are unable to come to the polling station in order to bring the ballot box to serve them.

The use of the additional ballot box is carried out under strict procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and maintaining transparency, openness and safety.

Mai Son commune has 10 electoral constituencies and 28 polling stations, with a total of 36,087 voters electing three deputies to the National Assembly, four to the provincial People’s Council, and 30 to the commune-level People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term.

To ensure that voters fully exercise their civic rights and responsibilities, the communal Election Committee directed election boards and polling teams to carefully review the voter lists and deliver voter cards to each household. At the same time, communication efforts were strengthened through the local loudspeaker system and Zalo groups of residential areas and hamlets so that residents clearly understand the time and locations for voting.

After casting his vote at Polling Station No. 15, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council inspected election activities at polling stations in Mai Son, Ta Hoc, Chieng Sung and Chieng Mung communes, reviewing the organissation of the election and encouraging election teams to follow proper procedures to ensure the election is conducted in a democratic, safe and lawful manner.


Through on-site inspections, election organisation in the localities was found to be carried out seriously and in accordance with regulations and guidelines. Facilities and decorations at polling stations were carefully prepared; the voter lists, as well as the lists and brief biographies of candidates, were fully posted in line with regulations. Election teams followed the prescribed procedures and guided voters in casting their ballots properly. The election atmosphere was democratic and enthusiastic, with voters actively exercising their civic rights and responsibilities.


Hung acknowledged and commended the proactive and responsible efforts of local Party committees, authorities and election teams in preparing for and organising the election. He also requested localities to continue closely following the plan and strictly implementing the legal regulations on election, while creating favourable conditions for voters to fully participate in voting, ensuring their civic rights and responsibilities. In particular, additional ballot boxes should be arranged so that all voters are able to cast their ballots, aiming to achieve the highest possible voter turnout and complete the voting process before 7 p.m. on the day.
