Earlier, from March 19 to 22, the department worked directly with each agency to review metadata, restructure datasets, and standardise data tables according to the prescribed catalog. Currently, the Department of Science and Technology has coordinated with VNPT to create 333 data tables from various units on the data warehouse system.
At the same time, the province’s open data portal (launched in late 2023) has recorded impressive figures. As of June 30, 2025, a total of 660 datasets across multiple sectors such as socio-economy, health care, education, and environment had been publicly shared. These datasets are presented in table formats, enabling fast search and flexible API integration. Notably, each dataset attracts between 27,000 and 29,000 views, with total downloads exceeding 117,000.
In his remarks, Chien instructed the Department of Science and Technology to closely coordinate with VNPT to complete the existing 333 data tables. At the same time, departments and agencies were urged to promptly develop data-driven operational scenarios based on their respective datasets, ensuring full integration into the system.
The Department of Science and Technology was also tasked with advising the provincial People’s Committee on establishing a data warehouse operations team, developing comprehensive operational regulations, and clearly assigning responsibilities for both shared and open data.
This work must be completed before April 10 in preparation for the official announcement and launch of the provincial data warehouse, he noted.
