At the working session, representatives of departments and agencies presented plans and roadmaps for upgrading the main Chieng Khuong border gate to an international one. Provincial departments, agencies, the Chieng Khuong commune authorities and leaders of the provincial Border Guard Command also contributed opinions to ensure the border gate planning preparation and adjustment, meeting development requirements in the new period and aligning with growing import-export activities.
They also proposed solutions for developing warehousing systems, transport infrastructure, inspection and control facilities, technical infrastructure, environmental landscape, and human resources, moving towards the international border gate status.
Following the field survey, Vice Chairman Hau requested departments, agencies, the Chieng Khuong commune People’s Committee and the provincial Border Guard Command to strengthen coordination in reviewing infrastructure and factors related to national defence, security and border management as a basis for finalising a practical and feasible planning scheme.
He also assigned the provincial Border Guard Command to integrate professional requirements for border and border gate management and protection, and to update the full list of projects related to border lines, markers and border management into the provincial master plan.
Relevant departments and agencies were urged to promptly take action and develop necessary components immediately after the central authorities issue conclusions, ensuring that the upgrade of Chieng Khuong border gate to an international one proceeds on schedule.
