In 2025, the Steering Committee proactively advised the provincial People’s Committee to issue numerous directives and plans for fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue work; strengthened public awareness and legal dissemination; and organised training and professional development for grassroots fire prevention and firefighting forces. Models such as “Fire Safety Inter-Family Teams” and “Fire-Safe Residential Clusters” continued to be established and expanded, helping to raise public awareness and firefighting skills.
Inspection and supervision efforts were intensified to promptly detect and correct violations. Across the province, 2,080 facilities were inspected, of which 53 were administratively fined with a total of 150 million VND (5,693 USD). The forces maintained combat readiness, proactively developed and rehearsed plans, and effectively handled emerging situations.
The province currently has 242 “Fire Safety Inter-Family Teams,” 189 public fire-fighting points, 322 “Fire-Safe Residential Clusters,” along with other pilot models such as markets and hotels ensuring fire safety. During the year, 29 fires occurred with no casualties and property damage estimated at over 8.35 billion VND; while one explosion caused one death. The forces handled 22 rescue operations, saving 35 people.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Cong requested that departments, agencies, and localities continue to thoroughly implement legal regulations and directives from the central and provincial authorities on firefighting and rescue work. Efforts should focus on enhancing state management efficiency, deploying comprehensive preventive measures to minimise fire and explosion incidents and related damage.
Public awareness campaigns should disseminate firefighting and rescue knowledge and skills to every household, production facility, and business; fire-safe community models should be further developed and expanded, he said.
Grassroots fire prevention forces and civil defence units should be strengthened, with improved training, drills, and combat readiness to handle situations effectively at the local level. Inspection and supervision should be tightened for high-risk facilities, with violations promptly detected and strictly handled, he added.
The principle of “4 on-site” should be fully utilised, mobilising community forces to fight fires during the crucial first five minutes. Investments in equipment and technology should be prioritised; digital transformation and shared databases should be developed for management, command, and operational purposes. Leaders’ responsibilities should be reinforced, with strict accountability for violations causing serious fires or explosions, contributing to public safety and supporting the province’s socio-economic development.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to five collectives and three individuals for outstanding achievements in the “All People Participate in Fire Prevention and Fighting, and Rescue” movement in 2025. At the same time, the movement for 2026 was launched.
