Son La provincial Political School developed to meet Level 2 standards in 2026–2030

Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, as head of a task force established under Decision No. 1296-QD/TU dated March 21, 2025 by the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, on March 26 chaired a meeting to review the Son La provincial Political School's first-quarter performance and outline its key tasks for the second quarter of 2026. Attendees included Nguyen Duc Thanh, a member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and head of its Organisation Board, along with representatives of departments and agencies, and task force members.

In line with Regulation No. 11-QD/TW dated May 19, 2021 issued by the Party Central Committee's Secretariat on standard political schools, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee formulated and issued Project No. 08-DA/TU dated January 19, 2023 on building and developing the provincial Political School to meet standards in the 2022–2025 period, with a vision to 2030.

The project set a target of achieving Level 1 standards by 2025 and progressing to Level 2 by 2030. In 2025, the school was recognised as meeting Level 1 standards, fulfilling all six criteria groups and 55 out of 55 indicators. Of these, eight exceeded Level 1 benchmarks, approaching Level 2 standards.

In the first quarter of 2026, the task force advised the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee to convene a conference reviewing Phase 1 of the implementation of Project No. 08-DA/TU dated January 19, 2023 on building and developing the provincial Political School to meet standards in 2022–2025, with a vision to 2030. It also supported the issuance of a conclusion by Standing Board on leadership, direction and implementation of efforts to develop the school to meet Level 2 standards in 2026–2030.

The task force completed a review and compilation of draft documents, including a revised draft project for developing the school to Level 2 standards in 2026–2030, a draft 2026 operational plan for the task force, and a draft decision to consolidate its support team in line with new requirements.

As of March 2026, against prevailing Level 2 standards, the school had met 32 out of 60 indicators across six criteria groups. 

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Hung asked the task force’s standing body to incorporate feedback from participants and finalise reports, plans and decisions in line with the principle of “six clarities”.

He also assigned the provincial Party Committee’s Board for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation to take the lead, in coordination with the Political School and the provincial Department of Science and Technology, in proposing and registering provincial- and ministerial-level scientific research tasks for 2025–2030, while reviewing and supplementing criteria on Party school culture and discipline in accordance with Level 2 standards to ensure progress, quality and effectiveness.
