Son La province has more than 915,000 voters across 1,580 polling stations. From the official list of 15 candidates for the National Assembly (NA), 94 candidates for the provincial People’s Council, and 2,718 candidates for commune-level People’s Councils, voters will elect nine deputies to the NA, 55 deputies to the provincial People’s Council, and 1,619 to commune-level People’s Councils.

By 11:30am, more than 765,000 voters across the province had cast their ballots, accounting for 83.63% of the total electorate. In many localities, voters arrived at polling stations very early, with several communes recording turnout rates of over 99%, including Long Sap (100%), Muong Chien (99.99%), and Muong Bam (99.74%).

During the morning of the election day, weather conditions across the province were favourable, with no unusual weather affecting voters’ travel. Transportation and communications remained smooth. In some remote and mountainous areas, particularly those with large ethnic minority populations, travel was still difficult; however, election teams proactively arranged support to facilitate voters’ participation.

For elderly voters, people with disabilities, and those who were ill and unable to come to polling stations, election teams used mobile ballot boxes to ensure they could exercise their voting right. Political security and social order were maintained as well.

The election day truly becomes a festival of the people, with voters demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility when participating in the voting.
