The provincial Steering Committee for Land Surveying, Cadastral Documentation, and Land Database Development on June 3 held a meeting to review the implementation of a related plan and discuss solutions to accelerate the achievement of targets set out in the plan.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment reported on the implementation of Plan No. 2959/KH-BNNMT-BCA issued jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Public Security. The plan aims to accelerate land surveying, cadastral mapping, cadastral documentation, and completion of the National Land Database.

Accordingly, the province established a provincial-level Steering Committee, issued operational regulations, and assigned responsibilities to its members. To date, 65 out of 75 communes and wards have established local steering committees to carry out the assigned tasks.

Land surveying, cadastral documentation, and land database development have been implemented across the province in a coordinated manner. The total area covered by official land surveys, cadastral measurements, and surveys of agricultural and forestry land has exceeded 269,400 hectares, accounting for 19.1% of the province’s total natural area.

Land databases have been developed in 51 of the province’s 75 communes and wards. On the National Land Information System (VNLIS), more than 1.08 million land parcels have been updated, of which over 523,500 meet the criteria of being “Accurate, Complete, Clean, and Up-to-date.”

The meeting is connected online with communes and wards across the province.

The Steering Committee requested departments, sectors, and local authorities to continue implementing assigned tasks according to schedule. Priority will be given to reviewing, supplementing, and standardising data for land parcels already included in the database but not yet meeting the “Accurate, Complete, Clean, and Up-to-date” standards.

The Steering Committee also called for enhanced public awareness campaigns to encourage residents to provide land-related information and documentation to support data verification and enrichment. In addition, support for communes and wards in land parcel positioning, surveying, cadastral documentation, and land database development will be strengthened, with the goal of completing all planned targets by 2026.
