At the event, the Department of Health reported on the progress of the investment project to build the Saigon – Son La Eye Hospital, expected to be located in To Hieu ward. It also proposed adjusting the number of hospital beds, total investment capital, land lease duration, and basic design in accordance with the investor’s requirements, ensuring effective and practical operation.
Regarding assigned healthcare tasks, the Department of Health presented updates on the draft Resolution of the provincial People’s Council concerning policies to support and retrain doctors to improve their qualifications and capacity. It also reported on the implementation results of the provincial People’s Committee’s Project No. 527/QD-UBND dated February 13, 2025 on dissolving regional medical centres under the Department of Health and reallocating personnel, assets, and equipment to commune- and ward-level health stations under local authorities, as well as other affiliated units.
Additionally, the department reported on the procurement of equipment for hospitals; the progress of investment and repair projects funded by regular expenditure budgets of public healthcare units; and several tasks related to digital transformation in the health sector, such as implementing electronic medical records, electronic health books, developing healthcare data systems, and the “Smart Hospital” model.
In his concluding remarks, Standing Vice Chairman Chien requested relevant departments and sectors to support and guide competent units in carrying out procedures for land auctions and land leasing in accordance with regulations. He also asked the investor to finalise the investment plan for the Saigon – Son La Eye Hospital.
The Department of Health was urged to continue coordinating with related sectors to implement assigned tasks, with detailed reports, plans, and timelines for each task, especially those concerning staff arrangement at commune-level health stations, training and capacity building for doctors, and the rollout of digital transformation initiatives, particularly the “Smart Hospital” model.
