At the conference, decisions on the establishment of advisory councils under VFF Son La were announced; drafts of their operating regulations for the 2025–2030 term and 2026 work plan were also presented. Accordingly, the Advisory Council on Socio-Economic Affairs includes 10 members; the Advisory Council on Democracy, Supervision, and Social Criticism comprises 10 members.
The advisory councils are non-full-time bodies of VFF Son La, operating under the direct and regular leadership of the VFF Son La’s Standing Board. They are responsible for advising the Standing Board on matters related to the activities of VFF Son La.
The general tasks of the advisory councils include researching and proposing issues related to their respective fields to assist VFF Son La in giving recommendations and feedback on Party guidelines and State policies and laws; giving comments to law-making and draft legal documents, as well as programmes, schemes, and projects on socio-economic development and national defence and security of the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee when requested.
They are also responsible for studying and collecting opinions from various social groups on relevant issues in order to proactively propose to the Standing Board of VFF Son La for consideration and recommendation to competent Party and State agencies on the formulation, amendment, and supplementation of policies and legal documents, ensuring they meet practical requirements, protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people, promote democracy, strengthen national unity, build social consensus; and reinforce public trust in the Party and the State.
Additionally, they participate in supervision, social criticism, and providing feedback at the request of the Standing Board, and may recommend competent state agencies to review and resolve relevant issues.
Speaking at the conference, Cha A Cua requested members of the advisory councils to continue promoting their roles, intellect, and sense of responsibility, and to accompany the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in effectively performing its functions and tasks in the coming time.
He emphasised strengthening advisory, social criticism, supervision, and feedback activities on policies, programmes, and projects in the locality; focusing on capturing and reflecting public opinion, aspirations, and sentiments; and enhancing the application of information technology and innovation in methods of monitoring public opinion to meet requirements in the context of administrative unit mergers.
