At the programme, the organising committee presented national flags and portraits of President Ho Chi Minh to 17 hamlets in Xuan Nha commune; distributed more than 1,000 gift packages to poor and near-poor households in Xuan Nha and Chieng Son communes; provided 450 portions of pork to disadvantaged families and policy beneficiary households; gave 27 gift packages to policy families and people with meritorious services; and presented 17 gifts to prestigious individuals in the community.
The programme also awarded 65 gift packages and five bicycles to disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties under the “Accompanying Children to School” programme; granted 30 scholarships from the To Hieu Scholarship Fund; and donated five tablets to high-achieving students from poor families.

In addition, “zero-VND” booths offering essential goods were set up to serve disadvantaged households and policy beneficiaries in the border commune. Free consultations, specialised eye examinations, and medicines were provided to approximately 300 local residents. The total value of the programme exceeded 900 million VND (34,682 USD).
Alongside social welfare activities, the programme featured many traditional cultural and sports activities such as making banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), throwing con (cloth ball), stick pushing, and tug of war, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere for local people to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The 2026 “Border Spring Warming the Hearts of Local People” programme, with its many practical activities, contributed to improving the material and spiritual lives of policy families and disadvantaged households in the border areas of Xuan Nha and Chieng Son communes. It helped local people enjoy a warmer and more fulfilling traditional Tet holiday, while also strengthening great national unity in the border region.
