Over the years, the Son La Department of Agriculture and Environment has strengthened external relations, friendship and cooperation, and the exchange of experience in agriculture and rural development with provinces in Laos. Since 2012, the department has supported Oudomxay with 70 tonnes of VA06 grass seed, 20 tonnes of NPK fertilizer, 20 tonnes of superphosphate fertilizer, 4 tonnes of urea fertilizer, and funding for transportation and implementation costs for a 10-hectare VA06 grass cultivation model in Muang Xay and Namor districts.
In addition, Son La has assisted the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Oudomxay in implementing a fruit tree cultivation model in Muang Houn district by providing a total of 3,280 mango and longan seedlings to eight households for cultivation on 6.5 hectares of land.

Speaking at the working session, representatives of the Departments of Agriculture and Environment of Oudomxay and Phongsaly provinces expressed their appreciation for the warm and respectful reception provided by their Son La counterpart.
They also expressed a desire to continue strengthening cooperation and information exchange in the fields of agriculture and forestry, regularly organise working visits, share professional experience, and visit agricultural production models.
These activities will contribute to further consolidating and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Lao provinces and Son La, ensuring that these ties continue to grow stronger and develop sustainably, they said.
