Ly has been known as a special orange variety in Moc Chau Plateau since 2011 when a household successfully grafted the Australian Navel orange variety onto the trunks of local grapefruit and orange trees.

With its outstanding values, the orange variety has been grown on a total area of over 30 hectares, each yielding 20 tonnes, with the price ranging from 50,000 VND (2.06 USD) to 70,000 VND per kg.

Notably, orange farms have attracted crowds of tourists during the harvest season. Aware of climate and land advantages, locals have invested much in Ly orange production and expanded the growing area, contributing to local development.
