Mai Son earns big from selling agricultural products

The People's Committee of Mai Son district on July 19 held a conference to evaluate the direction of production, sale and export of agricultural products.

Since the beginning of this year, the district has grown plants of all kinds on 45,154 hectares; with 60 hectares of fruit trees newly planted raising the total area of ​​fruit trees to 11,260 hectares, with an output of 45,000 tonnes of all kinds of fruits. The total herd of cattle and poultry is nearly 1.6 million, and the meat output is over 9,930 tonnes. The district also maintains 355 hectares of aquaculture, with an output of 345 tonnes of all kinds.

The work of promoting and connecting the sale of agricultural products has been stepped up. In the first half of this year, Mai Son sold 37,688 tonnes of fruits of all kinds, earning more than 766 billion VND (30.2 million USD), of which domestic fruit sale accounted for more than 89%. In addition, the district pocketed 31.8 million USD from exporting 62,000 tonnes of processed agricultural products.

In the second half of the year, Mai Son district focuses on developing safe, high-quality raw material areas, applying good agricultural production processes (VietGAP) or equivalent, and issuing planting area codes. It strives to attract more investment and support the construction of agricultural product processing facilities; apply information technology in trade promotion; and develop e-commerce.
