In 2023, total farmed and caught fish output was estimated to reach 462 tonnes, an increase of 4.5% over the same period in 2022, of which aquaculture output hit 402 tonnes and catches 60 tonnes.

Aiming to develop sustainable cage fish farming, Moc Chau district is focusing on planning aquaculture development in the Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir area to tap the water surface potential. It will organise training courses to provide technical guidance on care and disease prevention, associated with ecological environment protection.
