Programme launched in support Son La students

Hanoi-based Gia dinh Vietnam (Vietnam Family) magazine in coordination with the provincial Confederation of Labour and Bac Yen district organised a programme on September 26-27 to support students in Son La province.

The programme saw the engagement of Vietnam Fine Arts magazine, Le Auction House, and Hanoi artists and singers.

Leaders of the provincial Confederation of Labour and Bac Yen district, and sponsors present gifts to children at the kindergarten of Xim Vang commune, Bac Yen district.

Representatives of the charity delegation and Bac Yen district present scholarships to underprivileged students in Xim Vang commune.

The delegation presented 1,059 blankets, 640 mosquito nets, 303 pillows, over 1,000 winter jackets, more than 1,000 backpacks, 1,500 notebooks, school supplies, medical equipment, lighting devices, toys, milk, and over 1,000 gift packages to students in Xim Vang commune. Additionally, 22 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND (40.63 USD), were awarded to students from Xim Vang Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Suoi Trang school facility in Phieng Con commune. The delegation also funded vocational training courses worth 60 million VND for two students from Xim Vang and presented three gift packages, each worth 2 million VND, including cash and kind, to disadvantaged families in the commune.

The delegation also conducted a survey and donated over 500 million VND for the construction of a classroom at Suoi Trang hamlet school facility in Phieng Con commune. The programme, valued at over 1 billion VND, was funded through a charity music night organised in Hanoi August 28 evening by Gia dinh Vietnam magazine in collaboration with Vietnam Fine Arts magazine, Le Auction House, and Hanoi artists.

The organisers and sponsors symbolically present the funding to Son La in support of local students.
