Currently, the district has 250 hectares of Son La hydropower reservoir water surface for aquaculture, with more than 4,000 fish cages. There are 25 cooperatives operating in the field of aquatic farming and processing in the locality.
The district has provided guidance for cooperatives and locals to care for and prevent diseases for aquatic species and practice safe fishing. In addition, it has also stepped up promotion activities to introduce the Da River fish brand and products processed from fish so as to boost product consumption.
