The provincial Children’s Union organised the "Children's Voices and Aspirations" Forum 2024 on May 20, drawing 220 outstanding children who represent over 26,000 union members in the province.

Son La province held a ceremony at May 8 Square in the Administrative Centre of Moc Chau district on May 18 evening to announce the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s decision recognising the Moc Chau National Tourist Area.  The event was broadcast live on the Son La Radio and Television Station and relayed on the Son La E-Newspaper.

The provincial People's Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organised a conference on orientations for the green, sustainable development of the Moc Chau National Tourist Area in Moc Chau district on May 18. 

As part of a series of activities to promote tourism and announce the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s decision recognising the Moc Chau National Tourist Area, the Moc Chau plum picking festival at Na Ka plum valley, Pa Khen 1 hamlet, Moc Chau Farm town is one of the important highlights, attracting a large number of tourists from near and far.

Athlete Bac Thi Khiem from Son La province on May 18 excellently won a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Taekwondo Championships held in the central city of Da Nang.

The Phu Yen district People's Committee organised the job and career counseling fair 2024 on May 17.

Responding to the Workers' Month 2024, and promoting the campaign "All people take exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", the provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation’s provincial chapter, in collaboration with the Phuc Sinh Son La Joint Stock Company in Chieng Mung commune, Mai Son district, organised the 2024 sports festival for youths and workers on May 17.

After four days of competition at the National Phu Dong Sports Games - Region 1 in Phu Tho province, Son La province's athletes won 40 medals, including 19 gold, 13 silver and 18 bronze medals.

The People’s Committee of Mai Son district organised a ceremony in Sub-area No. 6, Hat Lot town, on May 17 to kick-start a project on preserving and embellishing the Cay Me (tamarind tree) historical relic site where the first cell of the provincial Party organisation was established.

A range of culture, tourism and “One Commune-One Product” (OCOP) products, along with traditional foods of Moc Chau district and other localities were introduced at a space set up at the May 8 Square on May 17.

A delegation of the People’s Councils of the Lao provinces of Bokeo, Phongsaly and Oudomxay on May 16 visited some outstanding agriculture models in Son La province.

The People's Council of Son La province and the People's Councils of Laos’ Bokeo, Phongsaly, and Oudomxay provinces held talks to exchange experience on People's Council work.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Learning Promotion in coordination with the People’s Committee of Son La province organised a scholarship award ceremony and launched the 2024 “Learning never ends” movement on May 15.

Right from the beginning of the year, the People's Committee of Son La province has directed departments, agencies, sectors, and People's Committees of districts and Son La city to develop plans to organise trade promotion activities to introduce and promote agricultural products in diverse forms, helping enterprises and cooperatives search for partners and sign product consumption contracts.

The Northern Power Corporation organised a drill on natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, incident settlement and safety in 2024 in Son La city on May 14.

Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, on May 14 had a working session with Mai Son district on compensation and site clearance for the Na San irrigation canal system project.
