Son La city develops suitable commercial housing market

In recent years, Son La city has done a good job of attracting and developing commercial housing and urban area projects, in accordance with the planning and orientation for a first-tier city.

In the 2021-2025 period, the city People's Committee has cooperated with relevant departments and agencies to propose the provincial People's Committee implement nine commercial housing projects, including the residential area at Lot 3A; the Nam La stream commercial residential area at Lot 5; the Urban Areas No. 1 and No. 2 in Chieng An ward; the Buon hamlet and Buon - Me hamlet urban areas in Chieng Coi ward.

Also in the list are the Urban Area No. 1 in Chieng Sinh ward, the urban areas in Chieng Le and Chieng An wards, and the Pot Noi urban area.

They have a total area of 66.5 hectares, comprising 812 houses and 1,419 land plots with a combined investment of over 3.67 trillion VND (154 million USD).

The chairman of the Son La city People's Committee holds a meeting with the Urban Management Department on the progress of urban and commercial housing projects.

In the 2025-2030 period, the city will propose the implementation of nine new housing projects, covering a total area of 265 hectares, with 1,656 houses and 2,426 land plots, with a combined investment of over VND11.1 trillion (465.9 million).

Currently, two projects have had their investment plans approved and are in the stage of investor selection. They include the Urban Area No. 2 - Tuoi Tre Lake in Chieng An ward and an urban area located at the beginning of the bypass of National Highway 6 (Son La city - Mai Son district section).

Three other projects are making investment plan proposals, including the urban area in the southwest of the city, the new urban area in Chieng Coi ward and the Phieng Kha urban area.

Meanwhile, the remaining four are under preparation, including the social housing area in Lay hamlet and Group 5 of Chieng Sinh ward; the high-class entertainment urban area associated with golf course; the Urban Area No. 1 in Co Puc hamlet and the Urban Area No. 2 in Phuong hamlet, Chieng Ngan commune.

Up to now, four projects in the city have supplied products to the market, including the Vincom commercial and general service area; the Nam La stream commercial residential area - Lot 5; part of the Urban Area No. 1 in Chieng An ward and the Buon hamlet urban area in Chieng Coi ward, with a total of 60 villas, 282 townhouses and 280 land plots, with an average selling price from 22-35 million VND (923-1,470 USD) per square meter for houses and 13-16 million VND (549-672 USD) per square meter for land plots.

Currently, Son La city continues to well implement the housing development programmes and plans, while improving the quality and efficiency of land use planning and plans. In particular, the city plans to attract investment in building commercial and social housing in many segments that suit the financial conditions of many target groups, thus increasing people's opportunities.
