Son La pays attention to developing agricultural cooperatives

In July, Son La province continued directing relevant agencies and localities to focus on agricultural development, building new-style rural areas, and implementing the three national target programmes.

At the same time, the province concentrated on implementing solutions to support and develop cooperatives, encouraging and promoting organisations and individuals to establish and operate cooperatives in accordance with law.

In the past seven months, 37 new cooperatives were established in the province, an increase of 5.7% compared to the same period last year. Currently, the province has 1,036 registered cooperatives, including 886 operating in agriculture, which play an active role in production linkage, the application and transfer of scientific and technical advances to farmers, and creating jobs for thousands of rural workers.
