Son La province harvests 51,430 tonnes of fresh tea buds

Son La province currently has nearly 5,850 hectares of tea, with the main varieties of Kim Tuyen, Shan, Van Son, and Olong. Since the beginning of this year, the output of fresh tea buds has reached 51,430 tonnes, up 0.62% year-on-year.

Over the past time, tea growers have focused on converting from traditional farming to organic production in accordance with VietGAP standard, so the productivity and product quality have improved.

Many tea products have been recognised as OCOP (one commune one product) products at the provincial level such as Matcha, Sencha, Black tea, Ta Xua cloud green tea, Thu Dan Olong tea, Trong Nguyen tea, special Shan tea, special Bat Tien tea, which are favoured by both domestic and foreign consumers.
