Son La strives to export over 26,900 tonnes of fruits

Son La province is striving to export over 26,950 tonnes of fruits in 2024, earning over 34 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.

They will include 12,900 tonnes of mango and mango products, 5,500 tonnes of fresh and fried longan, nearly 790 tonnes of passion fruit, 6,000 tonnes of banana, 50 tonnes of plum, 750 tonnes of red dragon fruit, 50 tonnes of hawthorn products. Main export markets are China, Russia, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the US, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

Currently, the province has over 85,500 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds, with an estimated output of over 490,000 tonnes. To ensure fruit products meet domestic and export market requirements, the province has directed departments, sectors, districts and Son La city to guide people to maintain and take good care of tree growing areas; strengthen monitoring of the areas that have been certified as meeting VietGAP and organic standards, and planting area codes of businesses and cooperatives. It will continue to build and issue codes for new planting areas and packaging facilities and organise trade promotion activities.
