Son La’s fresh bud tea output surpasses 21,700 tonnes

The northern mountainous province of Son La produced 21,731 tonnes of fresh bud tea in July.

Farmers in Chieng Pha commune, Thuan Chau district collect tea leaves.

Currently, the province has 5,824 hectares of tea, grown mainly in Thuan Chau, Moc Chau, Van Ho, Yen Chau and Bac Yen districts. Its main tea varieties are Kim Tuyen, Olong, Shan, and Van Son.

Local tea growing households are focusing on weeding and fertilizing. They also regular check the tea area, and promptly prevent pests and diseases so that the tea plants can grow and develop well, thus providing enough raw materials for companies and cooperatives in the province to serve domestic consumption and export.
