Son La’s fresh tea bud output up 4.02%

The total output of fresh tea buds in Son La province has so far reached 259 tonnes, an increase of 4.02% over the same period last year.

Farmers in Phong Lai commune, Thuan Chau district harvest tea.

The province now has nearly 5,860 hectares of tea, grown mainly in Moc Chau, Van Ho, Yen Chau, Bac Yen, Phu Yen, Thuan Chau and Mai Son. The main tea varieties are Kim Tuyen, Oolong, Shan and Van Son.

Currently, local tea growers are focusing on fertilizing and preventing pests and diseases so that tea trees can grow well and produce enough raw materials for companies and cooperatives in the province to process for domestic consumption and export.
