Song Ma district exports first batches of longan in 2023

The People’s Committee of Son La province’s Song Ma district, in coordination with Bich Thi Joint Stock Company and VK Import-Export Co., Ltd, shipped the first 40 tons of longan to the Chinese, EU and UK markets.

Longan is a key crop in the economic development of Song Ma.

Preparing the batches of longan for export, growing areas in the locality had improved production capacity, built safe fruit zones, and developed linkage chains.

Currently, the district has 48 longan growing area codes, with more than 481 hectares and an output of 4,817 tons. It boasts 47 cooperatives and one company producing VietGAP safe fruits, with 50 linkage chains of links and over 900 hectares of longan. Its longan output is estimated at over 9,778 tons.

In the coming time, the companies will continue to coordinate with Song Ma district to export 60 tons of longan to foreign markets.
