Support policies for fruit tree development in Son La reviewed

The provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations on September 29 organised a workshop to assess the impacts of support policies for fruit tree development in Son La province between 2017 and now.

The event saw the participation of representatives from the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, some departments and agencies, businesses and cooperatives in the province.

An overview of the workshop

The participants touched upon the impacts of fruit tree development policies in Son La province since 2017, recommendations and solutions; as well as policy impacts on harnessing the potential and strengths of fruit-growing regions, products derived from fruit trees associated with market development, and chain connectivity in the production, processing and consumption of the products, along with challenges and solutions.

They also looked into State and provincial policies on fruit trees, their limitations, and solutions.

Policy impacts on structural transformation, area, farming methods, products, and the development of businesses, cooperatives, processing facilities, and processing technologies were also tabled for discussion.

The opinions raised at the workshop will contribute to completing a study on critical feedback on and social evaluation of the impacts of support policies for fruit tree development in Son La province from 2017 to the present, while serving as a foundation for sectors and State management agencies to continue rolling out support policies in this regard./.
