The market is expected to draw the participation of six mountainous and border communes of Phieng Khoi, Chieng Tuong, Muong Lum, Long Phieng, Yen Son and Chieng On, and some border hamlets of Laos.
With 20-30 booths, the market will introduce and supply typical products of the highland communes, including ethnic costumes, souvenirs, traditional handicrafts of ethnic minorities, traditional culinary products, and key agricultural products. Within the framework of the event, there will also be cultural and art exchange activities, and folk games like stick pushing, tug of war, tu lu (spindle turning), and football.
It is expected to contribute to introducing local products; promoting production, business and tourism in mountainous and border areas; and creating conditions for people of ethnic groups on both sides of the border to boost cultural exchanges, preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups.
