At the meeting to review and consolidate the demand for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and assess the implementation progress of the National Target Programme 1719 in 2025.
During the 2020-2025 period, with the support of ministries and central-level agencies, especially the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (now the Ministry of Finance), the Ministry for Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and several provinces such as Hung Yen and Dong Nai, and through various programmes and projects, the province has supported the construction and repair of 12,667 temporary and dilapidated houses with a total funding of over 628 billion VND (23.8 million USD), including over 443 billion VND from social sources and over 185 billion VND from the state budget. These efforts have significantly contributed to stabilising the lives of households facing housing difficulties.

However, in 2025, due to the impact of natural disasters, many localities in Son La suffered severe human and property losses. The province continues to direct communes and wards to review houses damaged by floods, as well as newly arisen temporary and dilapidated houses, in order to develop support implementation plans.
Regarding the implementation of the National Target Programme 1719, the provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs has guided provincial departments, agencies, and commune-level authorities to carry out tasks following the reorganisation of the two-tier local administration structure. Of the 1.44 trillion VND allocated from the central budget, over 1.302 trillion VND has been distributed. Specifically, over 734 billion VND in development investment capital has been disbursed, reaching 83.7% of the planned allocation, and over 567 billion VND in non-business capital has been distributed, meeting 100% of the assigned plan.

In his concluding remarks, the Vice Chairman requested communes and wards to review and assess the demand for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses arising up to October 10, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, and correct beneficiary identification. The verification and assessment of data must be completed before October 30, after which a campaign should be launched to do away with all remaining temporary houses, striving to complete this task by December 31, 2025.
He also urged localities to accelerate the disbursement and allocation of funds under the National Target Programme 1719, and promptly report any difficulties or obstacles during implementation for timely solutions.
