Quynh Nhai completes elimination of substandard houses

Quynh Nhai district held a conference on March 27 to review the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for 2025.

 

At the conference reviewing the completion of the programme to remove temporary and dilapidated houses in Quynh Nhai district in 2025.

Attendees included Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee; Vi Duc Tho, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of several provincial departments, agencies, and sponsoring units.

To implement the programme in 2025, Quynh Nhai district made a list of poor and near-poor households, and policy beneficiary families in need of housing support. As a result, 99 households were found to be eligible for assistance, with 57 houses needing to be rebuilt and 42 others requiring repairs. The financial support was 60 million VND (2,346  USD) per house for new construction and 30 million VND per house for repairs.

The total cost for the programme was 4.68 billion VND (182,991 USD), with 3.3 billion VND from organisations, individuals, and businesses, and the remaining from the district’s 5% savings in regular expenditures in 2024 and provincial funds.

Symbolic house keys are handed over to the families receiving housing support.

In the first three months of this year, Quynh Nhai district mobilised support from organisations, individuals, businesses, Party members, and local people to help poor households replace their temporary and dilapidated houses. As of March 25, 2025, the district had completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 99 local households, one month ahead of the planned schedule.

Individuals receive certificates of merit from the provincial People's Committee.

On this occasion, the provincial People's Committee awarded its certificates of merit to three collectives and five individuals; while the People's Committee of Quynh Nhai district presented its certificates of merit to eight collectives and five individuals for their outstanding achievements in the "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Quynh Nhai district in 2025" movement.

Earlier, delegates attended a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over the houses to the family of Bac Cam Manh in Cau Cang hamlet, Chieng Khoang commune; and Quang Thi Lun’s household in Long Dan hamlet, Chieng Bang commune.

The house is handed over to Bac Cam Manh's family in Cau Cang hamlet, Chieng Khoang commune.
