Son La residents enjoy happy, safe Tet holiday

Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, on February 3 chaired a meeting to review the local situation before, during, and after the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) celebration.

Attending the meeting were Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung and Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet, among others.

To celebrate the Party’s 95th founding anniversary and the Lunar New Year 2025, Son La province organised many delegations to visit and offer Tet wishes to policy beneficiaries, families facing special difficulties, armed forces units, and those on duty during the holiday. The province distributed 264,300 kg of rice in support of 3,857 households with 15,230 people facing food shortages. In addition, 22,069 trade union members and workers received Tet gifts, totaling over 9.68 billion VND (384,273 USD). A total of 85,969 people received gifts worth over 42.3 billion VND during Tet. In January 2025, the province supported the construction of 353 new houses and the repair of 86 homes

Officials, soldiers, and people across the province enjoyed a joyful, excited, healthy, safe, and economical Tet atmosphere. Numerous cultural, art, and sports activities took place across localities. Local authorities paid attention to protecting and ensuring the health of the people. The political security and social order in the province remained stable, with border security and domestic safety guaranteed.

At the meeting, Khanh praised and acknowledged the efforts of authorities at all levels, sectors, and localities in organising a joyful, excited, safe, and economical Tet celebration for officials and citizens. He also recognised the successful maintenance of political security and social order in the province.

He urged authorities at all levels, sectors, and localities to focus on closely following their assigned functions and tasks, promptly getting to work in order to meet the targets for socio-economic development, as well as ensuring national defence and security in 2025.
