Son La strengthens comprehensive cooperation with Hung Yen province

A delegation of the Standing Board of Hung Yen province’s Party Committee led by Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia, who is also member of the Party Central Committee, on April 14 had a working session with its counterpart in Son La province, during which they looked into the implementation of the comprehensive cooperation between the two localities since 2022, and cooperation plans in the future.

The Hung Yen delegation was received by Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Son La province’s Party Committee and head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies; and Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; among others.

In implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on comprehensive cooperation between Hung Yen and Son La for 2022-2025, the two provincial Party Committees have directed all-level Party committees and organisations, agencies and localities to materialise cooperation contents in accordance with their functions and tasks, and the reality in each locality.

They have assigned the Party delegations to the two provincial People's Committees to instruct the building of plans to implement cooperation contents, and asked agencies in charge of advising and assisting the provincial Party Committees, relevant departments and agencies to devise cooperation plans, programmes and tasks for each year and the entire period, ensuring quality, practicality and efficiency.

Departments, agencies, and the management board of industrial parks in Son La province, and the People's Committees of districts and Son La city have studied, and exchanged experience in planning, site clearance, investment attraction, and the management and operation of industrial parks and clusters with Hung Yen province.

Son La province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has also partnered with the Fruit Varieties Production Centre in Hung Yen province’s Khoai Chau district to improve the operational efficiency of its crop, livestock, aquatic product varieties centre.

Son La province has established the To Hieu Scholarship Fund, with over 15 billion VND (599,103 USD) mobilised so far. The fund’s management council has earmarked 2.87 billion VND to present over 3,410 scholarships to disadvantaged students.

Every year, Hung Yen province cooperates in providing vocational training at different levels for about 6,000 labourers in Son La province.

In response, Son La maintains 15,000-18,000 labourers at enterprises, and industrial parks and clusters in Hung Yen. It also coordinates with Hung Yen to organise from three to five job consultation and introduction sessions in Son La province. In the first quarter of 2024, there were more than 17,570 labourers from Son La working in Hung Yen, with an average monthly salary of 7-8 million VND per person.

In his remarks, Nghia congratulated Son La on its achievements in the past time and noted his hope that the two provinces will strengthen cooperation in personnel training in fields where both have advantages, notably high-quality personnel, in order to meet market requirements.

The two sides should support, exchange and learn from each other’s experience in implementing mechanisms and policies on agricultural and rural development and new-style rural area building, and implementing social welfare programmes, towards sustainable poverty reduction, he said.

For his part, Dong thanked Hung Yen for its special attention and valuable sentiments towards Son La province in recent times.

The official noted his hope that Hung Yen will continue its coordination with Son La to effectively put in place the MoU, especially the programmes to ensure social welfare, create jobs for workers in Son La province, eliminate substandard houses; share management experience, and build mechanisms and policies on investment attraction, site clearance, land allocation and land lease, and the management and development of industrial parks and clusters.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province donates 1 billion VND to the To Hieu Scholarship Fund.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province presented 1 billion VND (39,960 USD) to the To Hieu Scholarship Fund./.
