The closing ceremony was attended by Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the competition’s organising committee; Hoang Huu Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency; representatives of provincial departments and agencies; information technology companies; experts; and 16 teams from agencies and units under the provincial People’s Committee.
The 16 participating teams directly leveraged the province’s shared data repository, Intelligent Operations Centre (IOC), open data portal and AI tools to tackle practical challenges related to public administration and services for residents and businesses.
Each team was required to develop at least 10 public administration scenarios using the shared data repository and IOC, as well as at least five scenarios aimed at supporting residents and businesses through the open data portal.
The teams focused on real-world use cases aligned with the functions, responsibilities and operational needs of their respective agencies. They began combining AI with provincial data to analyze, aggregate and visualise information, while supporting forecasting, early warnings, information searches, question-and-answer services and professional tasks, as well as management and monitoring.
The judging panel praised the teams for their preparation, creativity and presentation skills, while also pointing to several shortcomings such as data quality issues at some agencies, AI-data integration scenarios that were not always closely aligned with practical needs, and presentations that were overly theoretical or exceeded the allotted time.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman Hau called on the Department of Science and Technology to build on the valuable ideas, initiatives and solutions generated through the competition.
The department was asked to work with provincial departments, agencies and local authorities to assess the feasibility of these proposals and advise the provincial People’s Committee on selecting suitable models for further development and real-world deployment.
Hau also urged agencies and units to continue reviewing, standardising and updating their data, while making more effective use of the shared data repository, IOC, open data portal and AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of their assigned tasks.
At the conclusion of the competition, the organising committee awarded first prize to the Department of Health team, along with two second, three third and two special-theme awards to outstanding teams. The Son La provincial People’s Committee also presented a certificate of merit to the Department of Health team.
