Attending the event were Ha Trung Chien, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Secretary of the xParty Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Son La city; and Hoang Ngan Hoan, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, among others. It also saw the attendance of over 1,000 artisans, athletes, and people from the city’s communes and wards.
Before the opening ceremony, the city leaders offered incense and flowers at the Monument “Uncle Ho with Northwest ethnic minorities” and the Uncle Ho’s Temple at Northwest Square. Local officials, Party members and people of all ethnic minorities vowed to study and follow his ideology, morality and lifestyle, strive to build a clean and strong municipal Party organisation, thus contributing to developing Son La province rapidly and sustainably.
The festival started with a special art programme featuring singing and dancing performances praising the country's innovation and the glorious Party.
In the beautiful sunny weather, the mass dance competition attracted crowds. It drew the participation of 12 teams from communes and wards in Son La city. They brought to the festival impressive performances, staged carefully and elaborately.
Each had at least 60 actors participating, creating a lively and exciting collective performance.
The festival also included sports activities, and folk games, such as ‘To mak le’, ‘con’ (cloth ball) throwing, and walking on stilts.
At the end of the competitions, the organising board awarded five first, six second, eight third and six consolation prizes to the winning teams. Notably, the first prize in the ‘con’ throwing competition belonged to Chieng Sinh ward, the first prize in the ‘To mak le’ competition came to Hua La commune, the first prize in the walking on stilts competition for men and women went to Chieng Den commune, and Chieng An ward won the first prize in the mass dance competition.
The festival ended with the dance of solidarity, drawing the participation of artisans and mass performers from communes and wards, creating a lively, joyful and exciting atmosphere.
