Attending the conference were Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Dinh Thi Bich Thao, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and head of the provincial Party Committee’s Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Board; leaders of various provincial departments and agencies; leaders of the Standing Board of the district Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and leaders of communes and town within the district.

During the 2021–2025 period, the district had 1,628 temporary and dilapidated houses. Of these, 1,352 were newly built, and 276 were repaired, with a total funding of 67.3 billion VND (2.59 million USD). Based on the approved list from authorised agencies, the People's Committees of communes and town promoted communications, developed detailed implementation plans, and provided support to households in line with the planned progress.
District task forces coordinated with the commune and town People’s Committees to urge and guide households to build or repair their homes and complete the required acceptance documentation. Local specialised agencies, based on their functions and responsibilities, guided local authorities in managing, utilising, and settling the disbursed support funds.

To date, 1,627 out of 1,628 houses have been completed, including 1,351 newly built and 276 repaired. One household did not proceed as they had already purchased a new home. As such, the district has completed 100% of its target. The supported homes meet standards in terms of foundations, structures, and roofs. They cover a minimum area of 24 square meters and have a lifespan of at least 20 years. These houses have contributed to improving both the material and spiritual lives of poor and near-poor households, as well as policy beneficiary families.

Speaking at the conference, Hung praised the achievements of Thuan Chau district in eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing. He urged the Party Committees, authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and political-social organisations of the district to continue effectively implementing policies on sustainable poverty reduction, especially programmes and projects supporting housing for the poor, near-poor, ethnic minorities, and mountainous residents.
He also recommended developing economic models, creating livelihoods, and generating employment through these programmes and projects to enhance people’s lives. Successful and effective models for eliminating substandard housing should be replicated. Outstanding groups and individuals actively involved in housing support and poor households striving for self-reliance should be recognised and commended.
On this occasion, the district People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 36 collectives and 76 individuals for their achievements in the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in the district in 2025."

Earlier, delegates attended a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a house for Quang Thi Thuong’s family in Ca Cai hamlet, Phong Ly commune, Thuan Chau district.
