Vaca Maxi proposes high-quality beef cattle farming and feed processing project in Son La

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet on January 14 chaired a working session with Vaca Maxi High-Tech Livestock JSC regarding its proposal to invest in the Vaca Maxi high-quality beef cattle farming and animal feed processing project in Son La province.

Attending the meeting were Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Dao Tai Tue, Director of the provincial Department of Construction; representatives of relevant departments, sectors and agencies; and leaders of the company.

At the meeting, the company proposed its project covering an estimated area of more than 200 hectares in Van Ho and Tan Yen communes. It will include the construction of standardised barns, office facilities, an animal feed processing plant, a meat processing plant, and a high-tech research laboratory.

The farming complex will initially raise 2,000 breeding cattle, with a total capacity of up to 20,000 beef cattle. It is also expected to produce between 300,000 and 500,000 reproductive and beef cattle embryos per year using OPU/IVF technology.

The feed plant will produce about 80,000 tonnes of compound feed per year. A high-tech slaughterhouse with a capacity of 1,000 head per day is also planned. The investor committed to operating a closed production chain, minimising environmental pollution, using resources efficiently, and creating numerous job opportunities for local farmers.

Participants focused their discussions on issues related to project location in line with the province’s overall planning, the development of advantageous cattle breeds and livestock zones, and Son La’s mechanisms and policies to support investors.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee emphasised that Son La province always creates the most favourable conditions for businesses, particularly in high-tech agriculture. The province encourages the company to further study and implement the project in Son La, and requested relevant departments and sectors to closely coordinate with the investor to complete investment procedures. He also called for continued review of industrial zone and cluster planning to identify suitable investment sites in accordance with legal regulations.
