Rain praying festival recognised as national intangible cultural heritage

The rain praying festival of the White Thai people in Muong Sang commune, Moc Chau district was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on February 21.

This is one of the most important festivals of the year organised by the White Thai people in Muong Sang commune on the 15th day of the second lunar month. It aims to pray for a year of good weather and bumper harvests, and remind the next generation of protecting and respecting the living environment.

Its recognition as a national intangible cultural heritage will contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Thai ethnic group, while creating an attractive tourism product for tourists coming to Moc Chau.
