Literacy class for border residents wraps up

The Muong Leo Border Guard Station, in coordination with the Muong Leo Primary and Secondary Semi-Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, on August 7 held the closing ceremony of a literacy class for residents of Sam Quang hamlet, Muong Leo commune.

The class organisers present gifts to students with outstanding achievements.

After nine months of study, all 26 participants successfully completed the programme. They are now able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic operations to support daily activities such as buying and selling goods and using mobile phones.

In addition to literacy, learners were provided with information about the Party’s guidelines, State policies and laws, the elimination of outdated customs, as well as guidance on economic development to improve income and stabilise their livelihoods.

Delegates take a commemorative photo with the students.

This class is one of the models implemented by the provincial Border Guard Command to promote a learning society and enhance public engagement - a key part of mass mobilisation efforts aimed at consolidating national border sovereignty and security in the new context.

At the closing ceremony, the organising committee awarded certificates of programme completion to all participants.
