“Leaf for Forest” campaign targets restoration of 100 hectares in Son La

PanNature, a member of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, partnered with Forest Protection Sub-department XVI to launch a forest restoration campaign named “Leaf for Forest 2025” in Pha Luong hamlet, Chieng Son commune, on August 8.

Representatives from PanNature and campaign sponsors hand over saplings to Forest Protection Sub-department XVI and local residents of Pha Luong hamlet, Chieng Son commune.

This initiative is part of PanNature’s broader programme, aiming to restore 500 hectares of natural forest over 10 years and create a green corridor linking Mai Chau in former Hoa Binh province (now part of Phu Tho province after administrative merger) and Van Ho in Son La province.

In 2024, the programme planted 35,000 trees and restored 53 hectares in the Hang Kia–Pa Co area of Hoa Binh, and Van Ho of Son La.

A large number of local residents participate in tree planting at Pha Luong hamlet, Chieng Sơn commune.

This campaign will see over 60,000 native trees planted across nearly 100 hectares of protective forest spanning five hamlets - Sa Lai, Na Hieng, and Chieng Nua in Xuan Nha commune, along with Pha Luong and Suoi Quanh in Chieng Son commune.

Campaign sponsors join local residents in planting trees at Pha Luong hamlet, Chieng Son commune.

The campaign not only delivers environmental benefits by restoring natural forests and conserving biodiversity but also promotes sustainable livelihoods for local communities, building a green future featuring a harmony between humans and nature.
