The Liaison Board of Unit 95 in Son La province held a gathering to commemorate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025).

The Liaison Board of Unit 95 in Son La province holds a gathering to commemorate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

At the event, delegates recalled the glorious history of the special task force CP35 – the predecessor of Unit 95. In response to international duties, in July 1954, the Politburo decided to establish CP35 under the direct leadership of the Politburo and Secretariat, operating under the direct command of the Chief of the Office of the Central Party Committee. The unit was based in Laos and tasked with supporting Laos and other neighbouring countries.

As the mission evolved, on July 1, 1963, the Politburo restructured CP35 into Unit 95. In 1966, due to military mission requirements, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee's Secretariat transferred Unit 95 to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence.

In October 1976, Unit 95 completed its mission and was officially disbanded. After leaving military service, most officers and soldiers returned to their localities, continuing to uphold the fine qualities of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” and actively contributing to local development, while preserving and spreading the heroic revolutionary tradition of Unit 95.

Delegates attend the gathering.

The Liaison Board of Unit 95 presents gifts to members who are war invalids and relatives of fallen soldiers.

The Liaison Board of Unit 95 in Son La was established in 2003. For nearly 20 years, the board has served as a meaningful bridge connecting former comrades-in-arms who served in Unit 95 and are now residing in the province. It currently has 36 members. Driven by a deep sense of responsibility and camaraderie, members voluntarily contribute to an operation fund, regularly organise reunions, engage in community exchanges, and support one another in life.

Beyond preserving and promoting the proud legacy of heroic Unit 95, members of the Liaison Board continue to be exemplary figures in their communities, actively educating younger generations to carry forward the revolutionary spirit, live with ideals, and contribute to building a prosperous, civilised homeland.
