Son La pays heed to public health care

In August, medical facilities across Son La province provided check-ups and treatment for nearly 147,700 patient visits, including 26,400 inpatients and 75,500 outpatients. A total of 10,800 cases were referred to higher-level hospitals.

In addition to clinical services, the health sector has focused on disease prevention and environmental management. Medical facilities have complied with regulations on waste classification, collection, and disposal. Authorities have also strengthened monitoring and community guidance on water sanitation and environmental hygiene following floods to ensure public health safety.

Currently, the Muong Sai commune Health Station has 12 staff members, including doctors and nurses. Implementing the national target programme on health care, the station has provided medical examinations, treatment, and medication to about 3,000 people since the beginning of the year, mainly for common illnesses such as fever, flu, and diarrhea.

In addition, the station has intensified communication on seasonal disease prevention, ensured food safety, and implemented population and family planning policies effectively. Expanded immunisation for children has been carried out in accordance with regulations.
