The event aimed to promote voluntary social insurance (SI) and household-based health insurance (HI) enrollment. The launch ceremony was held online and connected to district- and town-level social security offices across the province.

Since the beginning of the year, the agency and its collection service partners have focused on renewing communication methods and content to expand SI and HI participation. As a result, 47 new units with 108 employees were newly enrolled in mandatory social insurance, and over 1,000 individuals registered for voluntary social insurance.
Now the province has 132,125 mandatory social insurance participants, accounting for 17.9% of the labour force; and 47,030 voluntary social insurance participants, or 6.4%. Nearly 1.24 million join health insurance, with a coverage rate of 93.1% of the population, and an increase of 1,470 people compared to the same period in 2024.
Under the theme “Social Insurance – Peace of Mind for Every Family,” the campaign focused on raising public awareness of the new features in the 2024 Social Insurance Law and Law 51/2024/QH15 on amendments to some articles of the 2024 Social Insurance Law. It emphasised the practical benefits and humanistic values of SI and HI, the advantages of voluntary SI and household-based HI, and the potential risks of opting out or receiving a lump-sum payment.
Citizens were also guided to use the VNeID app and chip-based ID cards to replace paper health insurance cards, ensuring convenience and transparency; and provided information on medical examination and treatment regulations and HI cost reimbursement policies. The campaign also addressed misinformation and clarified misunderstandings about SI and HI policies; and encouraged donations of SI books and HI cards to those in need.

Provincial social security and post office officers conduct mobile outreach on social and health insurance policies along main streets in Son La city.
Immediately after the launch ceremony, staff from the provincial and district social security agencies and the post offices, organised mobile communication activities to spread awareness of voluntary SI and HI policies. These outreach efforts took place along main roads and local markets throughout the province.
