Son La seeks partnership in sci-tech, innovation, digital transformation

A delegation from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), led by its director, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, held a working session with the Son La Department of Science and Technology on March 26 to discuss cooperation in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

At the meeting between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology delegation and leaders of the provincial Department of Science and Technology.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in science and technology and digital transformation, including a digital literacy portal, KPI evaluation solutions, AI applications for officials and public employees, the adoption of new technologies and digital transformation in professional activities, as well as the provision, support, coordination and data sharing in smart city management and smart agriculture application.

The Son La Department of Science and Technology proposed that the PTIT support research into key areas for the application and transfer of science and technology in such sectors as high-tech, circular and organic agriculture with lower emissions linked to tourism; smart agriculture; improving the quality of education management, teaching and learning; sustainable tourism development aligned with local strengths; and digital transformation incorporating AI, IoT and blockchain technologies.
 

A view of the working session 

Both sides agreed to further strengthen coordination in research, technology application and digital transformation in the education sector. They will prioritise the use of AI to support English language learning for students across the province, while encouraging greater student participation in technical and AI research.

The Son La Department of Science and Technology expressed its expectation that the institute will support training programmes to develop the province’s workforce in science and technology and digital transformation, thereby advancing these areas in the years ahead.
