Voluntary blood donation festival held in Phu Yen district

The provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and Phu Yen district, organized the "Giot hong Phu Yen" (Phu Yen Red Drop) Voluntary Blood Donation Festival on December 23.

The Organizing Committee presents a bouquet to Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Chien, Director of Yen Ha Prison under the Ministry of Public Security, for blood donation at the event.

The event attracted nearly 40 volunteers from the Phu Yen district Youth Union, with support from six doctors and five nurses from the Phu Yen district General Hospital. These volunteers and medical staff assisted with registration, screening, health counseling, and post-donation care.

It saw over 1,200 officials, public servants, teachers, armed forces, youth union members, and young people registering to donate blood. By 10:30 am on the same day, the organizing committee had collected over 400 blood units, which were then sent to the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to ensure a steady supply for emergency treatment and patient care.

This event not only helped raise public awareness of voluntary blood donation and safe blood donation practices but also contributed to the widespread promotion of voluntary blood donation movements in the community.

The Organizing Committee presents gifts to families affected by natural disasters in Phu Yen district.

On this occasion, the organizers presented 10 gift packages, each worth 1 million VND (40 USD), to families affected by natural disasters in Phu Yen district. The funds came from the Red Cross Society of An Giang province.
