Efforts made to lure tourists to Moc Chau National Tourist Area

A seminar was held in Son La province on August 10 to elevate and improve attractiveness for tourist sites and destinations in the Moc Chau National Tourist Area through the collection and compilation of symbolic stories and quotes of tourism culture.

The event was co-organised by Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and the provincial Tourism Association and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

According to the World Tourism Organization, in recent years, most countries with a developing tourism industry in the Asia-Pacific region are investing more in developing and promoting cultural-historical tourism as international visitors from potential tourism markets often prefer destinations with local historical and cultural tourism products.

In Vietnam, it is estimated that international tourists to experience cultural-historical tourism products of provinces and cities nationwide account for more than 40%. Cultural and historical stories become an important part of tourism development in order to create highlights and leave good impressions in the hearts of visitors.

Participants heard 11 presentations, focusing on orientations for tourism development in Son La province; the tourism development situation and requirements for compiling stories and quotes associated with tourist areas and attractions in the Moc Chau National Tourist Area; some historical events that can be used for tourism activities; literary tourism; experience to promote tourist areas and attractions; solutions for building tourism products based on cultural resources; measures to encourage artists and writers to engage in the compilation of symbolic stories and quotes of tourism culture...

The seminar aimed to build a source of materials, clarify the scientific and practical bases, and propose practical solutions to build cultural-historical tourism products that are attractive to tourists at the Moc Chau National Tourist Area, contributing to developing Son La tourism on par with its potential and advantages.
