Border guard posts have proactively coordinated with local Party committees and authorities in border communes to develop plans and select appropriate economic development models.

Officers and soldiers have been deployed to communities following the principle of “three closenesses and four togethers”, directly participating in and guiding people in production activities.

To date, the provincial border guards have maintained 18 effective economic support models, including cultivating late-ripening plums in Long Phieng commune, growing passion fruit in Long Sap commune, growing oranges in Muong Hung commune, and planting green ramie (a natural fiber plant) in Chieng Khoong commune, among others.

These efforts have helped improve the livelihoods of people in border areas and contributed to sustainable poverty reduction and development in the province.
