The 26/3 (March 26) Youth Cooperative in Yen Chau district has many products sold on websites and social networks, of which black garlic, male papaya (Carica papaya) flower tea and dried plums meeting OCOP (one commune one product) standards are available on Lazada and Tiki. The trading of products on e-commerce platforms has helped the cooperative expand the market, and have more opportunities to introduce local typical products to consumers across the nation.
At Noong Pieu native agricultural product cooperative in Phieng Khoai commune, its organically grown plum is appreciated, and becomes popular with the brand of “Ruby plum”. The cooperative has expanded sale channels to supermarket chains and clean food stores such as: AEON MALL, Kingfood and BigC Saigon. With 46 hectares of plums, last year, the cooperative signed cooperation agreements to sell products with provincial post offices and Sendo e-commerce platform; and sold the fruit on Facebook and Zalo, or via livestream at orchards to attract more customers. At the peak of the harvest season, on average, the cooperative had 200 orders per day, equivalent to more than 1 tonne of plums, via livestream.
Yen Chau is one of the localities with large fruit area and output in the province. Many kinds of local fruits are of high quality and have had their brand names, such as: mango, plum and banana. The district has intensified support for cooperatives and production households to access and improve skills, understand the process of promoting, introducing and selling products on e-commerce channels and social networks. It has also coordinated with departments and sectors to organise training courses on e-commerce for enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities and business households.
Since 2022, the district has coordinated to organise four training conferences on the process of promoting and selling products on major e-commerce platforms, such as Shopee, Tiki, Lazada and Sendo or multi-channel digital platforms like Tiktok, Zalo and Facebook. The units have also directly instructed businesses, cooperatives, and production and business households to practice skills of livestreaming, and editing and posting video clips to attract viewers, and sell more products.
Attention has also paid to assisting enterprises, cooperatives, and production and business households to step by step approach and understand the role and benefits of e-commerce, thereby better serving their production and business activities. To date, the district has nearly 10 agricultural products, and OCOP products put on sale on e-commerce platforms and online sales channels.
