Thanh Dat Fruit Cooperative, one of the typical units applying technology in agricultural production in Moc Chau ward, has all 60 hectares of fruit trees cultivated under VietGAP standards, with detailed production logbooks recording care processes. Grafted seedlings of clear origin are used; organic fertilisers are applied appropriately at each stage of plant development; and technical procedures for fertilisation, care, pruning, and pest control are strictly followed. Fruit bagging, harvesting, and post-harvest preservation are also carried out systematically. Each year, the cooperative supplies more than 800 tonnes of various fruits to the market, with an average revenue of nearly 450 million VND (17,278 USD) per hectare.
Bui Van Tuyen, a member of Thanh Dat Fruit Cooperative, said that by joining the cooperative, he has gained access to scientific and environmentally friendly farming processes. His family invested nearly 2 billion VND in building a net house system, automatic sun-shading roofs, and drip irrigation to cultivate nearly one hectare of black summer grapes and tomatoes. The synchronised application of biological pest control solutions and smart net houses helps minimise pests and diseases, reduce the use of chemical plant protection products, and ensure safer, higher-quality yields. His family’s revenue reaches about 3 billion VND per hectare per year.
Meanwhile, Moc Van Trang Organic Agricultural Cooperative cultivates 18 hectares of vegetables. With a sustainable agricultural development orientation, the cooperative has invested about 8 billion VND in building net houses and plastic greenhouses and applying scientific and technical advances, enabling proactive production according to market demand and minimising adverse weather impacts.
Ha Van Tien, Director of the cooperative, said: “Currently, the cooperative has 4 hectares of greenhouses and net houses equipped with advanced automatic irrigation systems and temperature control suitable for crops such as tomatoes, bell peppers, celery, strawberries, cucumbers, and other vegetables. We focus on production under VietGAP and organic standards, developing safe vegetable growing areas to supply clean and high-quality products to the market. At the same time, we actively cooperate with major restaurants and supermarkets in Hanoi and several provinces and cities to promote and distribute our products.” On average, the cooperative supplies over 500 tonnes of vegetables and fruits annually, with an average income of nearly 900 million VND per hectare.
To encourage and support enterprises, cooperatives, and households in applying technology and digital transformation in agricultural production, Moc Chau ward has coordinated with relevant units to promote investment and the synchronised application of technical solutions for sustainable key agricultural products. The ward also supports enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers in implementing electronic production logbooks, managing production via smartphones, installing automatic irrigation systems, and using QR code traceability labels. In addition, it collaborates with related agencies to organise e-commerce training, support participation in online sales platforms, and promote the sale of Moc Chau agricultural products.

Lo Minh Hiep, Vice Chairman of the Moc Chau ward People’s Committee, stated that the effective implementation of major policies on agricultural development associated with high-tech applications and digital transformation has gradually enhanced the value of local agricultural products. To date, the ward has nearly 400 hectares of vegetables and flowers with an output exceeding 10,000 tonnes; more than 2,700 hectares of fruit trees producing over 16,000 tonnes of fresh fruit; 170 production facilities and households applying water-saving irrigation on more than 242 hectares of farmland; nearly 13 hectares of greenhouses and net houses; and more than 93 hectares of vegetables, tubers, fruits, strawberries, and fruit trees certified under VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and equivalent good agricultural practice standards.
Through comprehensive solutions implemented by local Party committees and authorities, along with the proactive and bold investment by cooperatives and farmers in machinery and production equipment, and the promotion of mechanisation from production to harvesting, preservation, and processing, agricultural productivity, quality, and product value have been significantly improved, contributing to the development of a modern and sustainable agricultural sector.
